About Dr. Bhuvan Chanana

Dr. Bhuvan Chanana is presently the Head of the Vitreo-retina services of the Bharti Eye Hospital & Foundation. Before this he worked as an Associate Professor in University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi, India. Dr. Bhuvan did his residency (MD Ophthalmology) and fellowship in vitreo-retina, ocular trauma and ROP from the prestigious Dr RP Centre, AIIMS, India. He also worked as an ICO fellow in Inselspital, University of Bern, Switzerland and is a diplomat of National Board (DNB) since 2007.

Dr. Bhuvan Chanana has several publications in international and national journals. He is also co-Editor of a book titled ‘Video Atlas of Vitreo-Retinal Surgery’. He has several presentations in international and national conferences; and has been invited as a guest faculty to deliver lectures in national and international conferences, and post-graduate teaching programs. He is being regularly involved in community eye programs. In 2011 Dr. Bhuvan received ‘Scroll of Honour’ from UCMS alumni and Delhi Medical Association for Outstanding Meritorious Services of Highest Standard. He received “A.C. Agarwal Trophy” for best state paper presentation twice in Annual Delhi Ophthalmological Society (DOS), New Delhi, India in 2016 and 2018. He also received “Distinguished Resource Teachers of the Society” by DOS (2016). He received achievement award in Singapore APAO 2017 and most popular video award in APAO 2018, Hong Kong. Dr Bhuvan received “Second Best Video” in APVRS 2018, South Korea, and in Retina Live, Jaipur 2019. Dr Bhuvan also received an “International Hero” award from All India Ophthalmological Society, 2019.
